Angola -Tax Changes

LAW NO.28/2019 amended the Personal Income Tax (PIT) Code (IRT).

 

Employment income earned by a taxpayer who is a national citizen over 60 years old, is now liable to IRT. Previously, Angolan citizens who were over 60 years old were exempt from tax (IRT) in Angola.

 

This tax file has already been deployed prior to this release, because it is effective from  25 September 2019, however, we are mentioning this change here so that it is documented.

 

No backdating took place unless an annual tax calculation is used.
